2nd Class Power Engineer

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled 2nd Class Power Engineer to join our team at the Victoria General Hospital. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a Central Heating Plant (CHP) and all its auxiliary equipment.

About the Role

  • Operate and maintain a Central Heating Plant (CHP) and all its auxiliary equipment
  • Monitor steam boilers and distribution system, central refrigeration plants, and all ventilation systems through the building energy management system
  • Respond to building-related calls during silent hours, including holidays and weekends

About You

  • Interprovincial Second Class Power Engineer License
  • Two years' experience in a high-pressure plant (steam) and associated equipment
  • Travel to other sites may be required; valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

What We Offer

  • Permanent, full-time position; 90 hours bi-weekly
  • $35.28 hourly
  • Benefits package including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan
  • Market Adjustment of approximately $192.31 bi-weekly
