About the Opportunity

Situated within UJA's Integrated Development Department, the Community Campaign team engages community members to support UJA's mission through, educational programming and engagement opportunities across professional industries and demographics.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Campaign and Corporate Philanthropy, the Manager, Donor Development is an integral member of the Annual Campaign Team, building philanthropic relationships and managing a portfolio of donors, prospects and volunteers. The Manager, Donor Development is responsible for generating fundraising revenue, cultivating new donors and stewardship. The successful candidate will focus on the strategic management and effective operation of the Community Campaign professional and demographic divisions, for the enhancement of immediate and long-term fundraising results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cultivate and manage a portfolio of donors under $10,000
  • Develop and implement a stewardship plan for donors under $10,000
  • Accountable to achieve fundraising targets and to engage in face-to-face (or Zoom) meetings with prospects and donors
  • Identify and develop new volunteer leaders to take on fundraising roles
  • Proactively identify new donor prospects and volunteers; develop and execute cultivation strategies to engage these relationships
  • Create and implement overall fundraising strategies and events to work toward meeting your targets
  • Develop a comprehensive engagement plan that will cultivate relationships across all professional industries and demographic
  • Work closely with the professional fundraising team to produce a range of research information products and reports including research profiles
  • Support accurate data maintenance, strategic tracking, analysis and critical thinking around the movement and engagement of donors and non-donors across all industries and demographics

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising including managing and forging relationships with volunteers and donors
  • Strong customer service-oriented approach complemented by excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to assimilate a broad range of information and articulate with passion and integrity
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community
  • Self-starter. The successful candidate will be able to take action without having to always be directed.
  • Diplomatic; great listener; and strategic thinker
  • Ability to make decisions independently

* This is a full-time permanent position, Union Level 5. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work.
