Human Resources Coordinator Part-Time (50%)
Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, this part-time role requires a human resource professional that has recruiting and hiring experience and is highly organized. Expected to be an integral part of the Administrative team, the Coordinator will support recruitment & retention strategies. At this time the role includes flexibility given the school schedule and requires the candidate to be on campus for five to six hours per day, Monday to Friday, from the last week of August to the end of June, with time off during March Break, Christmas, the month of July, and three weeks of August.
Duties
- Support recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new employees
- Assist with the planning, developing, implementing and evaluating human resource policies
- Support Management with employee performance management
- Assist with the development of hiring strategies
- Oversee the annual employee survey
- Support the tracking of employee sick and vacation days
- Coordinate employee recognition programs and employee assemblies
- Assist in special projects as requested
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Values aligned with Sacred Heart School of Halifax
- Degree or diploma in Human Resource Management
- Minimum of two years of experience in human resources
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia Labour Law and best practices in the area of human resource
- Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suite of products
- Strong planning and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced varied environment
