Position Overview

The Human Resources department is dedicated to fostering an environment where employees feel engaged, supported, and motivated to excel. The HR Administrator plays a crucial role in assisting various stakeholders, including Principal Investigators, post-doctoral researchers, grant-funded staff, and faculty members, with employment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer comprehensive guidance on Grant-Paid and Post-doc HR issues, ensuring adherence to relevant collective agreements and employment guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project-related inquiries, addressing them promptly and escalating complex matters as necessary.
  • Draft and review correspondence to ensure compliance with established templates and payroll documentation.
  • Collaborate with different HR units to maintain consistent practices and facilitate problem-solving across various service areas.
  • Assist hiring managers and Principal Investigators with their recruitment strategies and needs.
  • Work alongside hiring managers to create job descriptions and refine grant-funded job postings, ensuring they meet standard formats and qualifications.

Work Arrangement

The selected candidate will have the opportunity for a hybrid work model, combining on-campus presence with remote work as agreed upon by all parties based on operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Resources with a minimum of three years of relevant HR administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, particularly with diverse client groups.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proactive approach and organizational skills to manage a high volume of inquiries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various online applications.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a unionized workplace.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner.
