Snowmaking Shift Lead

Join our team at Conservation Halton as a Snowmaking Team Member and be part of creating a world-class winter experience at Glen Eden.
About the Role- Support the snowmaking program, including completion of daily operational logs, staff records, and other associated tasks.
- Supervise shifts in the absence of the coordinator to ensure snowmaking programs proceed as planned.
- Adjust, relocate, turn, or move snow guns to maintain snowmaking efficiency.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, including water pipes, fluid levels, temperature controls, energy consumption, and diesel fuel systems.
- Document and report mechanical/safety issues, complete maintenance logs, and checklists.
- Maintain all safety barriers, padding, and guards around snowmaking equipment.
- Ensure Conservation Halton roads, parking lots, and walkways are clear of snow and sanded.
- Operate specialized seasonal maintenance and other equipment, such as plow trucks, tractors, snowmobiles, and large mowers.
- Support snowmaking staff training and work closely with other departments, such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Lift Operations.
- Work in accordance with Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including adverse weather.
- Related certification or experience in field operations, equipment operations, and/or maintenance.
- Ability to do basic system troubleshooting and awareness of the dangers involved with high-pressure vessels.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
- A valid Ontario Driver's License, minimum Class "G", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
- Successful candidates must provide own CSA-approved safety footwear and safety-approved helmet prior to first day of employment.
- First Aid and CPR training is an asset.
- Skiing and snowboarding experience is an asset.
- Starting at $26.51 per hour.
- Part-time and full-time hours available, with varying schedules.
