About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify their mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual and group therapy, as well as family support, using evidence-based practices.
  2. Case Management: Coordinate services with police, hospitals, crisis lines, and suicide prevention programs to ensure seamless care for clients. Identify gaps in services and recommend solutions to improve the mental health care system.
  3. Client and Family Support: Provide education and support to clients and their families, promoting knowledge exchange and empowering them to navigate the healthcare system. Facilitate family and lived experience involvement activities to promote client-centered care.
  4. Advocacy and Referral: Provide advocacy for clients, ensuring access to information, appeal processes, and client representatives. Make referrals to other healthcare professionals, such as vocational counselors, recreational therapists, and psychiatrists, as needed.
  5. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, providing recommendations on policies, processes, and procedures to streamline and improve client-centered practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a relevant social or health sciences discipline.
  • At least two years of recent, related experience working directly with clients and families impacted by mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Excellent assessment, treatment, and case management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
