Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a member of our Short-Term Assessment and Response Team, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families in acute crisis.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, and develop treatment plans to address these needs.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions.
- Collaborate with community resources and agencies to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination.
- Develop and facilitate educational workshops and training sessions for mental health professionals, hospital staff, and community partners.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related field.
- Two years of recent experience in child and adolescent mental health, including assessment, individual, family, and group interventions.
- Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association.
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of community response procedures, mental health assessment, and general counselling principles.
- Knowledge of Crisis Intervention Theory and demonstrated skill in crisis intervention with children, adolescents, and families.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Systems Theory and ability to incorporate this into mental health assessments and treatment interventions.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and families, and conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Knowledge and ability to conduct program evaluation, and ability to organize workload and prioritize responsibilities.
