Job Summary

ECOH Management Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Geoscientist to join our Environmental team as a Project Manager and Geotechnical Lead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and conducting various deliverables, including project management, geotechnical investigations, and design activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee a team of Technologists/Scientists, Senior Technologists/Senior Scientists, and junior staff, ensuring that corporate standards are met in all regards.
  • Geotechnical Lead: Act as the technical lead for geotechnical investigations and design activities, responsible for planning, supervising, and leading teams.
  • Proposal Development: Develop and prepare technical scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for proposals and projects.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare, review, and sign-off Geotechnical Reports for roads, subdivisions, towers, bridges, buildings, municipal infrastructure, and other projects.
  • Client Management: Manage client expectations and relationships, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery.
  • Team Management: Delegate responsibilities, provide direction, training, and mentorship to junior staff, and ensure an environment of good communication.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality control, quality assurance, and policy compliance in all aspects of project delivery.
  • Business Development: Participate in marketing activities, client development, and proposal teams, leading to business growth and expansion.
Requirements
  • A University degree in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering is required.
  • Professional accreditation – P.Geo. (Ontario) or P.Eng. (Ontario) designation is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a related field/industry as a Geotechnical Engineer/Geoscientist.
  • Experience in managing and working on various sizes and types of multi-disciplinary projects for various client types.
  • Strong understanding of Municipal, Provincial, and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with fellow project managers, senior management, clients, and contractors, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment pertaining to business and project activities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong budgetary skills exercised for the management of projects and resources.
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills – demonstrates the ability to present technical data effectively to internal staff and clients.
  • Ability to travel out of the city or province for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and adequate insurance must be maintained at all times.
  • General to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge and understanding of other technical related software programs (as required).
