Senior Claims Manager, Casualty Claims

Zurich Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Manager to lead and direct the work activities of a team of Claims Professionals across one or multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities- Leads and directs the administrative activities for the functional areas of Customer Services by assisting in developing, implementing and monitoring administrative and operational policies, procedures and best practices.
- Appropriately utilizes management tools to assess, evaluate and improve existing workflows, processes, procedures, systems and data quality to enhance outcomes, efficiencies, quality and productivity.
- Coordinates, manages and champions changes in requirements, strategy and culture across all functional areas of responsibility.
- Builds rapport and maintains effective relationships with all business partners to improve internal and external customer satisfaction and to achieve business objectives.
- Executes and effectively monitors activities that support compliance with all internal and audit controls and best practices.
- Appropriately manages and allocates resources to ensure effective utilization, which meets the needs of the customer.
- Implements and supports talent management practices to improve performance by participating in goal setting, measuring and monitoring performance, providing feedback, and mentoring, developing and training to staff.
- Manages and monitors expenditures to support an efficient cost structure.
- Supports the execution of the business planning process for the functional units in the geographic area for which they are responsible.
- Works to identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the external environment relative to improving the department.
- Acts as a technical resource for the team.
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims area
- AND 2 or more years of management experience data research and analysis skills
- Travel 25%
- 5 or more years of commercial lines Claims experience
- Previous people management experience
- Strong data research and analysis skills
- Training and presentation skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Advance Microsoft Suite, and spreadsheet/database skills
- Organization and multi-tasking skills
