Senior Claims Specialist – Casualty Claims

As a Claims Specialist focused on Casualty, you will be instrumental in the management of claims within AXA XL's Casualty team. You will collaborate closely with your supervisor and fellow Claims professionals to drive cases to resolution and frequently engage with Underwriting teams. Together, your goal will be to secure the most favorable outcomes for AXA XL and its clients through proactive claims resolution and settlement.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Evaluating coverage and drafting pertinent correspondence for brokers and insured parties as necessary. Guiding independent adjusters in the investigation of claims. Assessing and negotiating timely resolutions for assigned claims across various jurisdictions. Collaborating with internal and external legal counsel to establish and pursue effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation. Managing communication with internal and external stakeholders (Underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service. Participation in new account and renewal discussions may be required. Consulting with Claims management and Claims Legal on significant losses and ensuring all necessary steps are taken to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintaining detailed file notes, preparing internal reports, timely reserving, issuing payments, and setting electronic file diaries in accordance with best practices. Identifying, monitoring, and reporting on emerging trends within the insurance sector and legislative changes.

You will report to the Claims Manager for Casualty.

We seek a candidate with the following qualifications:

Extensive experience in handling Bodily Injury/Casualty and Litigation claims. Experience managing both Commercial General Liability (CGL) and Auto Bodily Injury claims. A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification. Obtained or pursuing Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation preferred. Strong customer service orientation. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Highly organized; capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities. Collaborative and effective in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
