We are seeking a seasoned Claims Manager to lead our Casualty Claims team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and directing the work activities of a team of Claims Professionals across one or multiple locations.
As a Claims Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality service and operational efficiency through performance management, development, and coaching of staff. You will work closely with the Head of Casualty Claims to develop and implement strategies to improve claims outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and direct the administrative activities for the functional areas of Customer Services by assisting in developing, implementing, and monitoring administrative and operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Utilize management tools to assess, evaluate, and improve existing workflows, processes, procedures, systems, and data quality to enhance outcomes, efficiencies, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinate, manage, and champion changes in requirements, strategy, and culture across all functional areas of responsibility.
- Build rapport and maintain effective relationships with all business partners to improve internal and external customer satisfaction and to achieve business objectives.
- Execute and effectively monitor activities that support compliance with all internal and audit controls and best practices.
- Manage and allocate resources to ensure effective utilization, which meets the needs of the customer.
- Implement and support talent management practices to improve performance by participating in goal setting, measuring and monitoring performance, providing feedback, and mentoring, developing, and training staff.
- Manage and monitor expenditures to support an efficient cost structure.
- Support the execution of the business planning process for the functional units in the geographic area for which they are responsible.
- Work to identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the external environment relative to improving the department.
- Act as a technical resource for the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims area
- AND 2 or more years of management experience, data research, and analysis skills
- Travel 25%
Preferred qualifications include:
- 5 or more years of commercial lines Claims experience
- Previous people management experience
- Strong data research and analysis skills
- Training and presentation skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Advance Microsoft Suite, and spreadsheet/database skills
- Organization and multi-tasking skills
