Financial Reporting Assistant Vice President: Oversee financial statement preparation, client relationships, and regulatory compliance for mutual fund and institutional clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Assistant Vice President to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements for a variety of Fund structures and IFRS and NI regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee relationships with clients, providing expert guidance on financial reporting services.
  • Primary owner of external and internal audits, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Regularly review regulatory changes and industry practices, assessing and communicating client impacts.
  • Design and implement operating models, standard procedures and controls, staff training and development, performance reviews and other initiatives as required.
  • Lead and manage technology enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives to reduce operational risks, increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian Fund Reporting and Regulatory Environment requirements outlined under IFRS and NI 81-106.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with superior attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

Education and Qualifications:

  • University/College degree.
  • CPA/CFA designation preferred.
  • 6-8 years experience in the investment fund industry with financial reporting experience required.
  • Experience in preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
