Who we are looking for

OVERVIEW:

Lead the team in the prompt and precise preparation of financial statements and reports, adhering to IFRS, NI81-106, and other Canadian regulations for mutual fund and institutional clients.

Plan and coordinate client deliverables while ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Support and implement corporate strategies, as well as design and execute operational models.

Manage client relationships and serve as the subject matter expert in financial reporting services.

What you will be responsible for

As an Assistant Vice President of Financial Reporting, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Overseeing the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for various fund structures in compliance with IFRS and NI regulations.
  2. Managing relationships and supporting the client service team as the subject matter expert in financial reporting.
  3. Being the primary contact for external and internal audits.
  4. Regularly reviewing regulatory changes and industry practices, proactively assessing and communicating their impacts on clients.
  5. Designing operational models and standard procedures, conducting staff training and development, and performing performance reviews as necessary.
  6. Leading technology enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives to mitigate operational risks and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Assisting the VP of Financial Reporting with RFP completion and participating in presentations to existing clients and potential external prospects.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  1. University or College degree.
  2. CPA or CFA designation preferred.
  3. 6-8 years of experience in the investment fund industry with a focus on financial reporting.
  4. Experience in the preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
