Who we are seeking

OVERVIEW:

Supervise the team's operations to ensure the timely and precise preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with IFRS, NI81-106, and other Canadian regulations for mutual fund and institutional clients.

Organize and strategize client deliverables while ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Facilitate and implement corporate strategies, and design effective operating models.

Manage client relationships and serve as the subject matter expert in financial reporting services.

What you will be accountable for

As an Assistant Vice President of Financial Reporting, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Overseeing the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for various Fund structures in accordance with IFRS and NI regulations.
  2. Managing relationships and supporting the client service team as the subject matter expert in financial reporting services.
  3. Being the primary contact for external and internal audits.
  4. Regularly reviewing regulatory changes and industry practices, proactively assessing and communicating client impacts.
  5. Designing operating models, standard procedures, and controls, along with staff training and development, performance evaluations, and other necessary tasks.
  6. Leading and managing technology enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives to mitigate operational risks and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Assisting the VP of Financial Reporting in completing RFPs and participating in sales presentations to existing clients and potential prospects as needed.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  1. University/College degree.
  2. CPA/CFA designation preferred.
  3. 6-8 years of experience in the investment fund industry with a focus on financial reporting.
  4. Experience in the preparation and review of investment fund financial statements.
