About the Role

The Nova Scotia Healthcare Infrastructure Division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for providing project management across the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement to construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with various teams and stakeholders, including contractors, government agencies, and support-service organizations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Project Coordinators/Officers, providing guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring effective management of human and financial resources.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring all project objectives are achieved.
  • Performance Management: Set and evaluate staff performance targets, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Engineering, Architecture, Commerce, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive hands-on experience managing building construction and systems in an owner representative or construction supervisory role, with a minimum of 5 years related to the healthcare sector.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, solid experience dealing with project budget, schedule, and technical requirements, as well as financial and legal matters.
  • Certifications: Registered as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia or eligible to become a full member by date of hire.
