We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our inter-professional care team, you will provide high-quality patient care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of pediatric patients on admission and at regular intervals, identifying risk factors and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide person-centered care, promoting empathy, trust, and respect.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
- Provide rapid pediatric assessments in collaboration with Emergency Department staff to facilitate timely treatment and discharge.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance, promoting self-care and independence.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years of recent, related clinical nursing experience in pediatric emergency care, with a focus on pediatric nursing theory and expertise.
- Ability to work collaboratively with inter-professional care teams, promoting a culture of respect, caring, and trust.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and instruct patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
