Job Title: Registered Nurse, Pediatric Emergency/Observation Unit

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatric Emergency/Observation Unit. As a key member of our inter-professional care team, you will provide exceptional patient care to pediatric patients and their families, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of pediatric patients, identifying their unique needs and developing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide education, support, and advocacy, promoting patient autonomy and empowerment.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication among team members.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and managing patient conditions.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Participate in education and training programs, staying up-to-date on the latest research, technologies, and best practices in pediatric emergency care.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years of recent, related clinical nursing experience in pediatric emergency care, with a focus on pediatric critical care.
  • Post-graduate coursework and/or certification in pediatric emergency care or a related field.
