About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and systems within our distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, including motors, generators, and control systems.
    • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
  • Equipment Installation and Repair
    • Install, test, and repair electrical equipment, including motors, pumps, and conveyor systems.
    • Ensure all electrical installations meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
    • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician - 442A) or #309A Construction Electrician with relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with a focus on troubleshooting and repair.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment, including motors, generators, and control systems.
    • Experience with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and other technical tools.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet.
    • Ability to stand for long periods, with occasional laying down, stooping, and crouching.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
