Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and systems within our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner, using troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including hours worked, parts used, and detailed comments on failure causes and solutions.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operation of the distribution center.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment and systems to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical maintenance and repair.

Requirements

  • Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician – 442A) or #309A Construction Electrician with relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and control problems, including PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment, as well as various testing procedures.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet and stand for long periods with occasional laying down, stooping, and crouching.

Assets

  • Experience working on conveyors, sortation equipment, towlines, cranes, and automated guided vehicles.
  • Detailed programming of PLCs and PLC systems.
  • Experience with Maximo.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute own work effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively alone or with other electricians.
