Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Quality and Risk Management department, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that meets the requirements of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and other relevant legislation.
- Provide guidance and support to departments and sites to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and codes.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and develop safe work practices to mitigate risks.
- Assist in the design, delivery, and evaluation of corporate workplace health and safety programs.
- Develop and deliver safety education and training materials for staff.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace health and safety, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Previous experience in job hazard analysis, health and safety program development, and risk management.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene.
- Registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional is an asset.
