Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist - Loss Prevention to join our team. This role will assist in the development and implementation of a safety management system aimed at preventing and controlling losses. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a safety management system to prevent and control losses.
  • Participate in incident prevention activities, including inspections, observations, and incident investigations.
  • Provide technical support for improvement efforts and act as a liaison with governmental agencies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Provide training and education on health and safety procedures to employees.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and health regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene.
  • Demonstrated experience with WCB processes and return-to-work programs.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
