About the Role
Gerdau S.A. is a leading steel producer and recycler in North America, with a strong commitment to safety and health in the workplace. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Health Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety management system to prevent and control losses.
- Participate in incident prevention activities, including inspections, observations, and incident investigations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to management and employees on safety and health procedures and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety and health procedures to employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of safety and health regulations and standards, including OSHA and WCB.
- Experience with industrial hygiene and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software.
