Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Shared Health. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide quality occupational therapy services to individuals with mental health issues and/or acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centered occupational therapy programs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and communities
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve recovery-oriented goals
  • Provide education and training to patients and staff on occupational therapy best practices
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM) with practicing or provisional registration
  • Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training certification
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy theory models and best practices
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent and relevant clinical experience in mental health or geriatrics
  • Education in occupational therapy from an accredited Canadian university program or equivalent
  • Continuing professional education in designated clinical areas
Working Conditions
  • Must be in good physical and mental health
  • Must demonstrate adequate strength, agility, motor coordination, and dexterity for therapeutic techniques and activities
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress
