Job Summary

The Lands Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support to the Lands Office. This includes project managing Lands and Environment projects and Lands Monitoring programs/projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and organizes Lands office – filing and administrative tasks.
  • Takes the lead in management of the Lands Registration – registration of documents and organization of documents and ensuring all documents are properly saved and backed up.
  • Compilation of Lands Manual documents and their organization.
  • Takes the lead in developing a Land Monitoring program for all WLFN Lands.
  • Consults and liaises with other lands & resources experts to share information and to potentially formulate joint special projects which would enhance the delivery of existing programs and services.
  • Assists the Lands Manager in Lands Policy and Law Development.
  • Participates in various community support, council and committee meetings as requested.
  • Organization of meetings – catering, taking minutes, preparation of materials for meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of resource management principles, practices, policies and procedures to consult with staff and various other governing bodies and agencies
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs for word processing, databases, Google Earth, mapping applications, spreadsheets, email and the internet, to the intermediate level (capable of using a large number of functions and feel confident using the program)
  • Ability to work independently and build effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to self-regulate, meet deadlines, have attention to detail, and respect confidentiality
  • Recognizes and respects all cultural diversity and has an understanding of Aboriginal culture
Working Conditions
  • Travel to other related organization locations will be required
  • Non-standard hours of work
  • Field work and site visits
  • Work in active construction projects
  • Receives moderate supervision with less frequent direction and occasional review of the work performed

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid BC Driver's License and Driver's Abstract
  • Must provide a vehicle in good operating condition and appropriate vehicle insurance to meet program requirements OR access to company vehicle is provided and requires a valid Driver's License.
