Supporting PAL Aerospace , we are looking for a Cost Analyst Technical Services to join our team in St. John's, NL

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain program cost tracking metrics.
  • Provide project managers with timely financial reports, budgets and project forecasts.
  • Perform project cost analysis and forecast actual costs and future commitments.
  • Develop standard costing metrics for the maintenance organization.
  • Analyze production costs and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze maintenance operations and equipment availability and utilization.
  • Support Accounting with fiscal period project financial reporting.
  • Work with finance team in maintaining project accounting, budgeting and capital planning systems.
  • Monitor and control expenses within allotted project budget.
  • Recommend changes in operating procedures to increase efficiencies.
  • Lead cost management policies.
  • Contribute to yearly operation plans and budgets.
  • Review program budgets with project managers to ensure all purchasing is tracked in alignment with modelling.
  • Compile, analyze and prepare various financial/statistical information and reports.
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a University program with a Bachelors' degree.
  • Professional CPA designation would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in a similar role preferably in a multi-divisional organization.
  • Experience with project accounting and reporting for medium to large scale projects.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and effective time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to navigate in various software systems is required (Great Plains, WinAir would be considered an asset).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • The ability to excel in a team environment and contribute to a diverse team.

Qualifications
  • Must have a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Course completed;
  • A.M.E License Cat. "M1/M2"
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience;
  • Experience on Dash 8 aircraft required;
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • A thorough knowledge of company aircraft and their related systems;
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills;
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, decision making, organization and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out and coordinate the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all aircraft and aircraft components including heavy maintenance;
  • Report to the Maintenance Supervisor on issues affecting the serviceability of aircraft;
  • Ensure aircrafts are maintained in accordance with company and Transport Canada Regulations;
  • Co-ordinate parts requirements with Maintenance Supervisor and ensure sufficient tools and equipment are made available to accomplish the maintenance and inspection functions;
  • Administration and direction of safety practices and procedures;
  • Conduct regular hangar and ramp inspections and report any noted deficiencies;
  • Complete work sheets for work accomplished;
  • Report unserviceable maintenance equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned.
