Position Overview

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a temporary full-time Business Systems Analyst II to become an integral part of our Internal Customer Experience team within the Blood Management Solutions division.

This role will operate in a hybrid work environment, requiring the successful candidate to be located near a Canadian Blood Services site. Employees are expected to be present on-site for a minimum of 40% of their working hours, although this may fluctuate based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with key stakeholders to assess and evaluate proposed modifications, conducting thorough analyses and gathering necessary requirements.
  • Utilize your expertise in blood management processes to design, develop, and configure strategic enhancements to blood management systems.
  • Conduct system validation and produce comprehensive documentation to support each change, leveraging your skills in software testing and technical writing.
  • Act as a liaison for the Blood Management Solutions team, collaborating with quality assurance and regulatory affairs personnel to communicate changes and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in project management and software release planning sessions to ensure timely delivery of changes that align with business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with IT stakeholders and software vendors to manage technical enhancements, software fixes, and overall system lifecycle management.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, preferably a degree or diploma in science or business, along with significant experience or certification in business analysis and software development methodologies.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a business systems analyst or relevant experience in blood banking operations and process design.
  • Familiarity with blood management solutions software is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated healthcare environment is desired.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and deliver high-quality initiatives within defined timelines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Work Environment

  • This position will require an on-site presence at a Canadian Blood Services location for 40% of the time.
  • Work hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to various Canadian Blood Services locations.
