About the role
We're looking for a Claims Specialist, Auto to join our growing team
As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to a team of claims professionals. You will be accountable for applying expert knowledge on the most complex claims and for supporting the management team throughout various tasks.
Working within our hybrid model, this opportunity can be in either of the following Ontario office locations: Toronto, Mississauga or Ottawa.
What you'll do here:
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for complex personal and commercial auto claims.
- Manage highly sensitive/complex escalations and complaints (e.g., higher level of complaints, executive complaints, medias exposure, regulatory involvement).
- Provide ongoing coaching advice and guidance to various key stakeholders.
- Participate or lead large projects or processes improvement with limited oversight from manager.
- Facilitate integration of new processes within current operations.
- Recommend changes to documentation (business processes, user guides, and procedures) to gain efficiency.
- Review and audit claims auto files to be compliant with established guidelines and processes.
- Assist management/provides backup support depending on business needs.
What you bring to the table:
- Strong technical skills in automobile claims and experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
- Minimum 8 years of Auto Claims experience
- Proven ability to influence, advise and coach others to deliver results
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Effective coordination and negotiation skills
- Workforce management and experience in a contact center environment would be an asset
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
