About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting the prosecution of offences and providing administrative functions and duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage files and determine relevant documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents and correspondence
  • Manage and organize files, and perform other administrative functions as assigned
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a two-year Legal Services Technician course or Paralegal technology course from a recognized institution
  • 6 years' verifiable experience as a Legal Assistant, with some experience in regulatory and criminal law
  • Thorough knowledge of the Criminal Code, Provincial statutes and regulations
  • Ability to research legislative history and work with legal documents and forms
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving capability

Pay and Benefits
