We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Property Paralegal to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in providing technical and legal services to support the acquisition and disposal of real estate.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and draft legal documents to support real property transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, easements, licenses, and leases.
- Conduct property title investigations, research property records, and search legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate submissions to the land registry for recording land registration instruments and coordinate with the land registry on mapping requirements.
- Provide technical legal support to internal and external legal counsel, management, and staff on real estate matters.
- Manage real property databases and ensure proper property records retention and preservation of files for litigation matters.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A two-year paralegal technology course from a recognized institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Familiarity with property and commercial law, applicable legislation, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of land registration systems, municipal, provincial, and federal jurisdictions, and responsibilities pertaining to land.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A competitive salary range of $1, $2,273.69 bi-weekly.
