We are looking for an exceptional Senior Instructional Designer to join our high-performing Product Team


The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for supporting the planning, research, development, and revision of course microcredential content as part of our growing product team at TALENT. Reporting to the Director, Learning and Assessment, the SID also collaborates with the Operations team, Marketing Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that our learning experiences are of the highest quality, aligned to best practices, and ensure our customers develop the skills and competencies they need to secure and maintain meaningful employment.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the Product team to develop, execute, and maintain Talent’s product design and development standard operating procedures and policies, including Talent’s continuous improvement processes
  • Effectively deploy Talent’s model of co-design with Subject Matter Experts ensuring service excellence at all times
  • Lead in sourcing, hiring, and managing Subject Matter Experts for various projects
  • Support the development of policies and guidelines for customer (learner) success
  • Contribute to the training and support of Talent’s team of Skills Coaches so that they are well equipped to support learners
  • Work closely with the Senior Instructional Designer to incorporate innovative technologies, tools, and processes to increase productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with other Talent functions to ensure the success of all client engagements



REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 10 years experience, preferably in the Education, EdTech or Commercial Training Services sectors
  • Certificate in Adult Training and Development and/or equivalent (preferred)
  • 5+ years of management experience leading others to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Experience in developing and effectively managing departmental and/or functional budgets considered an asset
  • At least 5 years recent experience working in various multimedia tools and education technologies such as Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, infographics, video editing, voice overs etc.
  • Experience with backward design, problem-based learning, and skill competencies an asset
  • Experience working with a variety of LMS platforms, and strong knowledge of pedagogical best practices
  • Experience with accessibility and universal design for instruction; familiarity with AODA and WCAG standards for web development and content compliance
  • Knowledge of micro-credentials and digital badges considered an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of experience liaising between internal teams (i.e., product teams, sales teams) and external stakeholders (e.g. learners or technology users).
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity in a startup environment combined with a desire and the skills to create an agile structure and systems that will enable the company to scale rapidly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients and customers will be critical for success in this role.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with a range of enterprise software applications, ideally from both MS and Google environments.
  • Ability to work independently and with professional discretion under minimal supervision, prioritizing and multitasking as needed.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Talent is currently, and may remain, a location independent company offering employees the opportunity to work remotely but with the expectation of potential occasional travel to client and partner locations as required (within North America). Travel expectations no more than 10% annually.
