We are seeking an experienced Data Governance/Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SQL and data governance to ensure our data management practices align with regulatory standards and best practices. Your primary responsibilities will include developing complex SQL queries, conducting data analysis, and maintaining comprehensive compliance documentation.


Location: Chicago, IL (or) Toronto, Canada


Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for Data Governance/Documentation Specialist with 6+ year of Experience
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), data maps, and flowcharts for data handling.
  • Write complex SQL queries to verify compliance with data governance policies and procedures, ensuring data integrity and accuracy within banking operations.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate reports on banking data using SQL, providing insights to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current data management processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements, focusing on compliance and data governance.
  • Create and maintain data compliance documentation to support regulatory requirements and audits, promoting transparency in data management practices.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with data governance and privacy policies, regularly updating it to reflect current practices.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and standards, using SQL queries to implement necessary checks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve data compliance issues, enhancing data governance efforts across the organization.
  • Stay informed about data governance frameworks and best practices to continually improve the organization’s data governance strategy.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.
