Role Description
This is a full-time in-office role for a Legal Assistant at Axess Law. The successful candidate will have the option of working from home in the future, but for no more than 1-2 days a week.
The Legal Assistant will assist in various legal responsibilities related to real estate transactions such as:
- sending quotes to clients;
- opening transactions and entering information into Prosuite and other internal software;
- requesting and reviewing searches, pulling charges, sending search information to senior clerk;
- requesting and following up on information statements, discharge statements, and clearance letters for CPLs;
- requesting insurance binders, tax certificates and strata documents;
- preparing and requesting postponements or payout letters for PPSA's;
- renaming and uploading documents as received from clients;
- accepting and assigning mortgage instructions;
- requesting solicitor information on purchase transactions;
- requesting LODs on refinance transactions;
- obtain your Commissioner for Taking Affidavits for the Province of British Columbia to assist with in-person signing appointments;
- opening, sorting, scanning, uploading mail/courier deliveries; and
- other tasks as assigned by your senior law clerk or lawyer.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Real Estate experience is required
