The Fleet Manager uses all reasonable methods of prospecting for new and used retail, commercial as well as fleet customers (businesses) on a daily basis. This is done via electronic, phone and personal contact. This person would be working both in the showroom ensuring proper showroom floor coverage, as well as in the field prospecting and building relationships with potential customers. Having an existing network of clients will be essential in becoming successful in this role.
Responsibilities
- Order vehicles for retail as well as fleet accounts and consult with General Manager/Sales Manager/s regarding inventory levels. This includes marking SOLD units and tracking inventory flow.
- Liaise with manufacturer regional managers on production timelines, production issues, product flow, etc.
- Perform weekly update each Friday or monthly sales/target update to General Manager, Sales Manager/s.
- Keep current, comprehend and comply with laws that affect retail clients as well as commercial or fleet operations.
- Direct and schedule activities of department staff.
- Use and keep current all dealership authorized sales oriented and CRM software.
- Answer all BDC leads in a timely manner.
- Generate sales by acquiring new retail customers and fleet accounts.
- Liaise with service and parts department ensuring satisfactory, as well as timely repairs for fleet + retail clients.
- Actively offer and sell to each client, all available vehicle products offered by the finance office.
- Actively offer and sell to each client, available vehicle accessories offered by parts dept.
- Actively offer and sell to each client, aftermarket products from vetted upfitters that may fit the client’s needs.
- Produce all necessary documents for accounting and finance department to process each deal.
- Co-ordinate/perform deliveries of retail+ fleet vehicles at dealership or to customer locations.
- Co-ordinate with the finance office and accounting to ensure proper payment is collected when vehicles are delivered.

- Ensuring all customers are satisfied with their purchase after delivery – handling any issues with dissatisfied clients as they arise.
- Utilize lot attendant to assist in daily activities.
- Ensure timely entry of vans into website software, plus appearance and photos of vans are on website.
- Liaise with the Marketing team to ensure that all van information on website is correct, put forward marketing initiatives.
- Plan and attend in the hosting of, or participation in trade shows/community events.
- Attend and assist in all in dealership sponsored sales events.
Qualifications
- Previous sales experience in a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Sound salesmanship capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective administration and management expertise.
- Computer literate.
