About the opportunity:

The Technical and Business Development Coordinator is responsible for maintaining technical product information and coordinating business development activities to support the department with meeting business objectives.


The attributes we are looking for:

  • Organize and maintain the Ingredients & Export Support databases (Technical Information Forms & Applications, Sample Activities and Customer Technical Documentation) in support of company quality standards, business development and continued product sales.
  • Organize, maintain and execute customer sampling programs, including local product inventories, imported product samples, certificates of analysis, sample preparation, product packaging, product support documentation, export documentation and courier shipping, in support of business development.
  • Organize and maintain technical documentation requirements with co-packers of ingredients, including certificates of analysis and supporting quality certificates & forms, in support of company quality standards, business development and continued product sales.
  • Execute basic technical responses to customer technical documentation and quality questionnaire requests in support of business development and continued product sales. This includes cross functional collaboration with QFS, Regulatory, R&D and plant quality systems personnel.
  • Assist in the coordination of department activities for ingredients business trade shows and marketing projects in support business development. This includes liaison with FSI Marketing to ensure complete and timely execution.
  • Assist in the coordination of ingredient testing for shelf life and technical information catalogues in support of company quality standards.
  • Ensure Lactalis’ position as the national leader in dairy ingredients through promoting product line at trade events and directly to customers and in all direct customer communication.
  • Support other technical, sales and commercial team members and Lactalis I&E distributors as required.
  • Actively engage in acquiring dairy knowledge and understanding of I&E product portfolio


What you will bring:

  • University degree or College diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • One (1) to three (3) years dairy or food industry experience including Project Management, Quality Systems and Food Regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of dairy and food products.
  • General knowledge of food and government regulations related to the dairy and food industry and labeling.
  • Ability to understand and recognize priorities, deadlines and execute with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and interpersonal/communication skills with internal and external sources for technical information and ingredient assistance.
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office 365, SAP an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Bilingual would be an asset.
