Responsibilities

What your day will look like:
Design and Project Coordination

  1. Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and studies to support the development of transportation engineering designs, including EA documentation
  2. Design of transportation projects including:
    • Preliminary and Detailed Design
    • Engineering studies
    • Technical specifications
    • Design calculations
    • Transportation drafting using CADD software
  3. Conduct site investigations and condition assessments
  4. Complete review of safe work practices and perform risk assessments
  5. Preparation of contract documentation, including contract drawings, construction specifications, tender quantity and cost estimates, and working day estimates
  6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, environmental scientists, engineering technologists, and administrative support staff
Business Development
  1. Contribute to the preparation of estimates and project proposals
  2. Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Transportation group
  3. Contribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunities
  4. Travel to client locations and/or other Dillon offices for the purposes of executing your responsibilities, internal client relationship development, project research, and project delivery
Learning and Development
  1. Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  2. Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring
  3. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
