As a Trade Reconciliation Representative, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the Trade Reconciliation Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Execute daily trade and entitlement settlement, manage exception reporting and reconcile all client positions for both nominee and discretionary accounts as required.
  • Develop and maintain diverse communication channels among all the internal stakeholders regarding the status of settlement and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain and update related procedure and work instruction documents and review regularly as required. Proactively improve processes.
  • Submit, monitor and track system defects and ensure efficient and timely solutions.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
The Must Haves:

  • University or College Degree in a related field an asset.
  • 2 or more years of work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Prior knowledge of the securities / brokerage operations including Trading, or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) an asset.
  • Problem solver and passionate about delivering quality service.
  • Customer Centric mindset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
