Position Overview:

The Director of Finance will lead the department and play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the financial strategy of property management operations. This leadership position requires a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in property management who can drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support the company’s strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the company’s property management division.
  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that enhance profitability and drive growth within the property management portfolio.
  • Manage and optimize multiple properties' cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial resources.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of new efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic initiatives, including property acquisitions, dispositions, and developments.
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making processes and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements specific to property management.
  • Liaise with external auditors, investors, and other stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and a CPA (CA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the property management industry at a Controller level or higher.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations for a diverse property portfolio, including residential and commercial.
  • Strong understanding of the property management financial system Yardi, and related processes, and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, focusing on collaboration and team development.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
