Job Description
Arconic is currently in search of a Procurement Manager to join our Kawneer Building Construction team in Lethbridge.

ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities- Achieve cost savings via negotiations with suppliers for site spend, conducting competitive bids for capital and commodity projects. Working with internal stakeholders to implement productivity improvement and sourcing project initiatives.
- Support manufacturing operations by escalating and resolving supply and service issues with Suppliers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to optimize requisition to payment processes, qualify alternative suppliers and manage supply risks.
- Achieve Site specific Procurement targets on spending, weighted average vendor pay terms and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain constructive business relationships with key suppliers.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to arrive at the best total value solution for the company.
- Lead non-commercial events as required to meet objectives, including, but not limited to Kaizen workshops and Working Capital/Inventory Workshops.
- Interface with other Procurement Operations Managers at each Arconic manufacturing site in the U.S. to develop and leverage in depth understanding of purchasing processes, critical material sourcing and savings initiatives.
- Work proactively with Category Managers to implement key strategic initiatives in all areas of spend.
- Fulfill auditing and compliance requirements related to Procurement processes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Institution. (Engineering, finance, business, or supply chain preferred)
- 3 years previous work experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Professional Certification - Certified Purchasing Manager (CPIM, CPM or CSCP) is preferred.
- JD Edwards or Oracle Experience.
- Demonstrated flexibility over multiple categories and suppliers.
- Communication and negotiation skills.
- Project Management, able to manage resources and timelines.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Innovative, Strategic thinker.
- Technical proficiency required, ability to read prints and understand complex manufacturing processes.
