Civil Engineering Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing design packages for transportation and municipal infrastructure projects, including water distribution, sanitary and storm sewers, stormwater management, road design, and utility coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering design calculations, technical reports, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare detailed CADD plan/profile design drawings for transportation and linear infrastructure projects.
  • Attend client meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender specifications for projects.
  • Work in the field to gather data for projects using data collectors and survey with portable GIS equipment.
  • Provide support during construction such as submittal coordination, meeting agenda and notes preparation, payment certificates, and site review, as required.
  • Other duties as required where appropriate for the position.

Qualifications:

  • Recent college graduate from a 3-year Civil/Municipal Engineering program or a College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • 2-5 years of work experience within the field is preferred, but superior candidates with less experience will be considered.
  • Registered as a CET or able to obtain CET designation with OACETT within a two-year period.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Some experience with undertaking engineering surveys, level surveys, and field measurements.
  • Able to be trained in Confined Space Entry procedures and undertake confined-entry inspections into sewers and tunnels as required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and job sites.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
  • A valid G driver's license and access and use of a reliable vehicle is required.
