Airswift is seeking an Intermediate Buyer to work with one of our clients in the oil and gas industry in Calgary or Sherwood Park, AB on a 12-month contract.


As an Intermediate Buyer at [Oil and Gas Company Name], you will play a crucial role in the procurement team, responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services essential for the company's operations. This role involves managing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in procurement within the oil and gas industry, with strong RFQ and RFP management skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the end-to-end procurement process, including the creation and management of purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • RFQ and RFP Management:
  • Develop, issue, and manage RFQs and RFPs for various goods and services.
  • Analyze supplier responses, evaluate bids, and recommend supplier selections based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.


Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to ensure a diverse and competitive supplier base.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage any issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of required materials and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project requirements and resolve procurement-related issues.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven experience managing RFQ and RFP processes.

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
