Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Cultivation & Nursery will oversee aspects of the nursery and cannabis cultivation operations, ensuring optimal plant health, yield, and quality. This role requires a deep understanding of agronomy, horticulture, and cannabis cultivation techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant science and a proven track record in managing cultivation operations and successfully leading people.


Key Responsibilities:

· Actively engage with and provide hands-on leadership, training and coaching to four direct reports.

· Oversee daily nursery and cultivation operations, including planting, watering, fertilizing, pest management, and harvesting. Nursery operation will include propagating from seed and tissue culture.

· Develop and implement cultivation plans and schedules to maximize yield and quality.

· Monitor plant health and make recommendations for improvements, including coordinating corrective and preventative actions to address issues and drive continuous improvement.

· Maintain detailed records of phenotypes being analyzed in nursery operation and cultivation activities and plant health data.

· Collaborate with other departments, including Processing and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless operations.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, new cultivation techniques, and regulatory changes.

· Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations related to cannabis cultivation.

· Implement sustainable and environmentally friendly cultivation practices.

· Able to adapt and be flexible to changes that are made to meet Company needs.

Qualifications:

· Preference for a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field.

· Preference for a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in cannabis cultivation or a related agricultural field.

· Strong knowledge of plant physiology, pest management, and nutrient management.

· Excellent leadership and team management skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

· Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in cultivation software and data management systems.

· Familiarity with Health Canada regulations and compliance requirements for cannabis cultivation.
