As a Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Project Architect and Project Designer to oversee the financial performance and communication of projects. You will be responsible for managing one or more projects through all phases, from initiation to completion. This involves directing employees and consultants at various levels to ensure adherence to procedures, project plans, budgets, schedules, and design intent.


Leadership

  • Leads or participates in multiple project teams as the Project Manager.
  • Aids senior management in defining and validating project scope, fees, budget, and service details during marketing and contract development.
  • Contributes to the creation of project presentations and may lead client presentations.
  • Supports senior management in preparing and executing consultant contracts.
  • Assists in negotiating fees and contracts.
  • Integrates Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Provides leadership including professional development coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Defines staff requirements for projects as needed or directed.


Management

  • Collaborates with the Project Architect to prevent or resolve scheduling conflicts arising from changes.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages projects, maintaining ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and update memos.
  • Coordinates with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines to ensure effective communication.
  • Oversees construction administration throughout the construction phase.
  • Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Keeps client apprised of project progress on regular basis. Initiates and maintains contact with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues.


Business Development

  • Contributes to the creation of the annual business plan for the unit.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and nurtures existing client relationships, actively seeking out and listening for potential new projects.
  • Engages in targeted marketing and business development activities.
  • Aids in crafting fee proposals for marketing efforts.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in architectural practice with management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration in your region preferred, if licensure is offered in your region.
  • NCARB registration preferred.
  • LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IDP).
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects of a complex scope.
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Proficiency in Primavera, MS Project preferred and/or Smart Sheet preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D Modeling software such as Rhino preferred.
  • Proficiency in Deltek preferred.
