In 40 seasons, Pacific Theatre has produced more than 150 professional mainstage productions ranging from established works to original world premieres featuring some of the top theatre artists from Vancouver and across the continent.

Practitioners at Pacific Theatre work on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Front of House team (consisting of one or two Front of House Attendants and one Box Office Attendant per performance) work together to welcome patrons to our theatre and ensure a positive guest experience.
Pacific Theatre is seeking several new FOH staff members to round out our team for our upcoming season (running September 18-June 7 with training taking place in early September.) While productions are running, shifts are available Wednesdays-Thursdays from 5:30 PM-approx. 10:30 PM, Fridays-Saturdays from 6:00-approx. 10:30 PM, and Saturdays-Sundays from 12:00-4:00 or 6:00 PM. Shifts may occasionally be available on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Staff will not be required to work every shift but should have regular availability to work some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Front Of House Attendant:
-Assist in setting up the lobby space and resetting it at the end of the night
-Ensure volunteers are versed in their duties for each performance
-Follow all emergency and evacuation procedures
-Prepare and clean up the concession area
-Maintain cleanliness of the theatre, lobby, and concession area
-Assist with concession sales, ticket scanning, and ushering as needed
-Interact with patrons and ensure patrons with accessibility needs are accommodated
-Deliver the Front of House speech to the audience at some performances
-Reconcile cash at the end of the night
-Open the theatre before the show, and close and lock the theatre at the end of the night

Box Office Attendant:
-Assist in setting up the lobby space and resetting it at the end of the night
-Respond to patron inquiries via email, phone, and in-person
-Distribute will call tickets to patrons before performances
-Sell tickets before performances
-Facilitate ticket exchanges for subscribers as requested
-Follow all emergency and evacuation procedures
-Assist the FOH Attendant and patrons in exchanging seats as needed to accommodate accessibility needs
-Reconcile cash at the end of the night
-Assist in closing the theatre at the end of the night

Qualifications:

-Experience in customer service and/or events
-Experience handling cash and facilitating transactions
-Ability to think quickly and solve problems efficiently, and know when to seek help from others
-Knowledge of theatre and live performance
-Friendly and passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for patrons and fellow staff
-Comfortable speaking in front of an audience
-Experience in a box office role or with ticketing software is an asset
-Experience leading volunteers or experience in a management/team lead position is an asset
-Valid First Aid certification and Serving It Right is an asset
