Role Description:

Arcadis Canada is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This role sits within our global business area Resilience. As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. And in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.

Role Accountabilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Fieldwork, including groundwater sampling and installation of groundwater monitoring wells, soil characterization and sampling, soil vapour/indoor air sampling and remediation monitoring.
  2. Site inspections, Phase 1 Site Assessments, and compliance audit support.
  3. Aquifer testing, water level measurements, and elevation surveying.
  4. Subcontractor oversite including drillers, utility locators, etc.
  5. Remediation systems and groundwater pumping systems monitoring and maintenance.

Additional duties may include handling day to day tasks such as:

  1. Data management.
  2. Writing and preparation of reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  3. Preparing cost estimates.
  4. Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.).
  5. Preparing periodic status/program reports.
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related field. Valid driver's license (work-related travel will be compensated).

  2. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
