Environmental Response Engineer/Scientist

As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for an Environmental Response Engineer-in-Training or Scientist to join our dedicated Spill Response Team. This position offers flexibility in location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Spill Management: Be on-call 24/7 to support clients during emergency spill incidents, which may involve train derailments, pipeline leaks, transportation accidents, and hazardous material spills.
- Preparedness and Planning: Contribute to the development of emergency response strategies, engage in emergency drills, and provide training sessions for clients.
- Field Operations: Take part in emergency spill management projects, overseeing contractors in tasks such as spill containment, drilling, installation of monitoring wells, soil excavation, removal of hazardous materials, stream restoration, and site rehabilitation.
- Documentation: Aid in the creation of regulatory submissions for clients, independently draft reports for review, and compile visual data for project managers. Support the Project Manager in proposal writing and conduct research on regulatory requirements.
- Project Coordination: Oversee project activities, lead field teams, manage analytical setups, and collaborate with subcontractors. Ensure effective coordination of technical resources and personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical, or related fields) is required; a minor in business administration is a plus.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience is necessary, with co-op experience considered advantageous.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
- Experience in a consulting environment is preferred, along with a willingness to travel.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Fieldwork may involve extended hours, exposure to adverse weather conditions, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a vehicle is required.
