The winter season runs yearly from in and around mid November until April, weather dependent. We are offering an hourly rate of $45/hr CAD plus a standby rate paid out over the contract period.

Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operations of snow removal on local side walks as per the contract requirements,
  • Maintain accurate documentation to complete the necessary paperwork,
  • Maintain/clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs as required,
  • Meet call in requirements during a winter storm event,
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 2 years previous experience in wintermaintenance operations,
  • Experience operating a side walk plow preferred,
  • Oncall availability to be on site within one hour of call,
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require,
  • Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment considered an asset,
  • Good understanding of MTO standards,
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal),
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
