  • Reporting to the District Supervisor, the Cafeteria Coordinator will assist with the provision of an _
- efficient, cost-effective delivery of nutritionally sound and responsive cafeteria service in the schools _
- across the T.D.S.B. This will involve direct supervision of minimum of six or more Board operated _
- cafeterias. The Coordinator will also provide direction to cafeteria support staff. The Coordinator will _
- oversee and implement commissary operations in kitchen facilities that support child nutrition programs _
- in elementary and high schools, and the provision of congregate dining for senior citizens. Organise _
- and plan catering functions for the schools and the community._

Summary of Duties:

Prepare and analyze computerized sales and cash procedures;
Collect for data entry, multi site report compilation of site and cluster profit and loss statements on

a weekly and monthly basis;
Implement e - payment account payables;
Prepare and handle food for cafeteria style meals, and catering;*** Perform large volume food preparation;*** Plan and coordinate catering services;*** Order and prepare menu items for multiple units in accordance with the Total Quality Assurance

Manual;
SAP input;
SAP cross checking;
Analyze SAP input;
Complete financial analysis of operating cost;
Prescreen applicants for Per Diem positions;
Forecast and order food and sundry supplies for multiple locations;
Check, receive and store supplies;
Review inventory monthly for multiple locations;
Market and promote services;
Assist sites with implementation of promotions, merchandising and visual; display;
Evaluate results;
Train Nutrition Services general help;
Provide direction and guidance to general help;
Schedule staff, temporary staff, per diem, and co-op students for one or more locations;
Request replacement staff as needed;
Maintain quality and portion control of all menu items;
Maintain budgeted food cost in multi units;
Maintain budgeted labour cost to reflect revenue fluctuation in multi units; and
Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Secondary School Diploma plus one year post-secondary courses in Food Service/Hospitality

including courses in food processing with two years of related experience in large quantity food
production, and multi-site management or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Proficient keyboarding skills and expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. computer word
Experience using kitchen equipment and in quantity food production;
Good working knowledge of food and labour cost controls;
Proven ability to provide catering services to internal and external clients with a customer service

focus;
Successful experience maintaining records of revenue and expenditures;
Good communication and demonstrated customer service focus;
Organizational skills;
W.H.M.I.S./H.A.C.C.P. knowledge; and
Working knowledge of related Board policies and procedures.

Special Requirements
Must provide own vehicle for Board business to travel to designated sites.*
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; and
  • Ability to lift boxes and cooking equipment (e.g. pots and pans) and supplies etc (up to 50 pounds).
    Location:2 Trethewey Drive

Hours: 3.5 to 7 hours per day. (Hours based on operational demands and revenue) Standard

hours - day shift. However, some shifts may be scheduled in the evening in order to
meet program needs. From time to time, the shift may be scheduled on weekend to
meet operational demands.

Work Year:
  • 11 months (Operational demands and revenue determine work year)
