Scope of the Position


The People and Culture Administrator's key responsibilities include implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures, Training Grants, Policy Management, and daily administrative duties.


Please note:

the role will be based at RSL's headquarters in South Burnaby and will report to the Manager, People and Culture.

The incumbent will partner closely with employees at all levels across the business.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Advice on Health and Safety guidelines to minimize safety risks and comply with provincial legislation.
  • Develop and enforce health and safety policies (e.g., accident reporting process, accident investigations, monthly inspections, H&S meetings, etc.)
  • Keep records of safetyrelated incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Implement regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are followed.
  • Organize and conduct health and safety training plans with managers and employees.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility, accessibility, and interaction with all managers and employees related to H&S across all locations.
  • Perform and review all grant requests and Provincial funding compliance requirements.
  • Be the content owner for all People and Culture policies administration.
  • Support the P&C function by ensuring all immigration requests are administered and processed effectively.
  • Provide administrative support for People & Culture programs that support an employee's lifecycle, such as recruitment, pay equity and compensation programs, retention programs, etc.
  • Maintain electronic personnel files.
  • Other reasonable duties and projects as may be required from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications
years of administration experience

  • One plus years of combined experience in HR and Health and Safety will be an asset.
  • Certificate or Diploma in a related Business, Finance, Human Resources or Health and Safety field is preferred.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with excellent listening, interpersonal and conflictresolution skills.
  • History of setting and achieving goals and accomplishing tasks with aggressive timelines.
  • An individual with high integrity, creativity, and a rollupyoursleeves work ethic.
  • An ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, escalate issues appropriately, and keep the information confidential is critical to this position.
