Job description
As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Greeting and requesting required information from patients
- Performing venipuncture
- Performing Electrocardiogram (ECG) tracings
- Explaining the specimen collection process
- Ensuring patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection
- Completing data entry of patient's information
- Performing special test collections such as, genetic or fertility test
- Preparing specimens to be transported for testing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate to patients and clients in stressful situations as well as demonstrating empathy
- Desire to learn and pursue a career in the medical field
- Ability to maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality at all times
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our phlebotomist safe, we have installed plexiglass counter barriers. For the blood draw process, universal precautions and PPE protocols are in place.
