The North America Battery Test Lab is in search of a Project Management Engineer to facilitate the launch of the lab, oversee test execution, monitor progress, and manage workflow efficiently.
This role presents a unique opportunity to play a vital part in establishing a state-of-the-art battery testing facility from its inception to full operational capacity.
Initially, the focus will be on training, documentation, and the successful initiation of the lab. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager in tracking advancements from various contributors during the lab's launch phase, managing follow-up actions, and providing project status updates.
Once the lab is operational, the responsibilities will transition to managing test projects. Key duties will include:
- Coordinating and monitoring all battery pack and cell testing activities.
- Overseeing the status and throughput of product development test requests.
- Collaborating with lab operations and product development teams to ensure timely completion of future product development objectives.
During the lab launch phase, responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in a cross-functional team to ensure the successful execution of the Battery Lab launch project.
- Identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with project teams to eliminate obstacles, offer guidance on challenges, and formulate recovery plans.
- Reviewing and capturing lessons learned post-project to enhance future project execution.
- Maintaining communication with Product Development and Validation teams to stay informed about current and upcoming testing requirements.
- Collaborating with test requestors to enhance the quality and timing of test submissions.
- Creating and managing test schedules and forecasts that align with product development testing plans while optimizing equipment usage.
- Ensuring efficient allocation of testing resources, including test channels and equipment.
- Providing regular updates on test status, equipment utilization, and issue tracking.
Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of years of relevant experience in project management.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Project.
- Experience in planning and executing large capital improvements.
- Background in product testing within laboratory or manufacturing settings.
- Prior project management experience or similar roles.
The candidate is expected to primarily work onsite, with some flexibility for remote work based on workload and tasks. Occasional travel may be required for meetings.
